Job Title: Configuration Management Specialist II - ESRB Level I

Description
This position will provide configuration management of Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) Management Integration Office items being processed under the control process of the S&MA Directorate. In addition, this position assists in all aspects of configuration management including the identification, change control, status accounting, administrative support of configuration management software, and audit of the products, in accordance with established policies and procedures. The specialist is assigned duties from the Management Integration Office CM Lead.


Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Develop, implement, maintain and perform processes for S&MA configuration management including but not limited to control of various types of documentation, quality records, budget/cost data, capital assets, workforce data, performance data, schedules, and data entry. •Conform to established procedures for the release and control of data and unique NASA CM requirements. •Collect documentation from office and support functions and ensure the systematic release and distribution of documentation through the release and control function. •Provide, using existing or program unique computer programs, a status accounting report which accurately accounts for all documents and authorized changes to documents under CM. •Participate in internal and customer conducted audits by providing all applicable documentation and coordinating with all parties necessary for successful completion of the audit. •Recommend distribution and approval requirements for documentation, change orders, and releases in accordance with established policies and procedures. •Assist the CM Lead in training and other areas of specialized requirements for configuration management and the establishment of policies and procedures including items like ISO work instructions and other standards. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years experience in any field with 1 year experience in the field of Program Configuration Management and/or Documentation Management. Configuration management certification similar to the ICM-Institute of Configuration Management is preferred. Qualified candidates must be familiar with configuration management software systems. MS Office Professional experienced user including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience in the use of software configuration and documentation management software tools utilized by NASA JSC is preferred. Due to contractual requirements candidates must be a U.S. citizen.
